What we do

Cairde supports minority ethnic communities across Ireland to enhance their health via a community development approach.

We believe that the absence of equity and respect for human rights is correlated to the existence of health inequalities.

Our work across Ireland focuses on three main actions:

  • Providing individual advocacy and information services to minority ethnic individuals.
  • Supporting new and existing community based groups through capacity building, education and training to take an active role in the analysis and redress of the issues affecting them.
  • Building partnerships with health service providers, policy-makers and researchers to highlight ethnic minorities experiences and outcomes from the use of health services at a policy level.
