Our Work
Group Development
The strong economic growth Ireland has experienced over the last few decades has also contributed to a high degree of inward migration.
Balbriggan is a small town located 30 kilometres north of Dublin. This town has one of the highest concentrations of ethnic communities in Ireland. The town also has a higher proportion of asylum seekers and people of African origin than any other areas in Fingal.
Cairde’s Balbriggan Centre provides space to 11 different community groups. Collectively, these groups are made up of 330 people.
Among other group, Cairde facilitates and coordinates:
- Women’s Support and Development Group
- Family Mirror group
- English literacy classes for Roma Women’s Development Group
- English conversation classes
