School children help to design a logo for the Balbriggan Integration Forum

zdjecie (3)Children attending Balbriggan schools are invited to take part in the process of developing a logo for the Balbriggan Integration Forum (BIF). Children are invited to submit drawings that will represent the idea of an integrated Balbriggan. Their work will be used as an inspiration for developing the logo for the Forum which will be completed by a graphic designer.

Balbriggan Integration forum(BIF) is a voluntary body that believes in developing positive intercultural relationships by respecting and sharing the richness, beauty and potential of all people and their respective cultures which will add significantly to the quality of people’s lives in the area. It was set up in late 2012 as part of the Cairde Balbriggan Integration Initiative.

Emilia Marchelewska, Integration Project Leader at Cairde says: “By engaging schools we would like to promote the values of diversity and community spirit among the children and parents of all cultural backgrounds living locally. We would like to encourage everyone to take ownership and responsibility in creating an integrated community in Balbriggan. We are delighted that Balbriggan schools are participating in this initiative and we welcome entries from individual children too.”

All children attending a primary or a secondary school in the Balbriggan area are welcome to participate in this drawing competition “Integrated Balbriggan – my idea for the Balbriggan Integration Forum logo”.

Artworks must be submitted by the 15th of November to Cairde Balbriggan at Old St. Georges School, Hampton St., Balbriggan

Cairde hopes to exhibit selected drawings and unveil the logo during the official launch of the Forum at the beginning of December. A trophy will be presented to the finalists.
